And I Almost Forgot
Posted by Will under health
With all my harumphing below about the bike tour’s shortcomings, I forgot to make mention that at this morning’s weigh-in I’ve registered another three pound drop, bringing me to 232 (just two pounds from my first-stage goal; 3.5 months ahead of shedule) and a total of 28 pounds lost in 10 weeks.

I have a new goal. I want to get to the point where I am casually posting that I forgot to mention that the pounds continue to fall off! Congratulations Will.

Very good point, Jo. But it wasn’t so much casual as doubtful as to the veracity of yesterday’s reading. See, I hopped onto the scale almost immediately after getting home from the 30 miles it took to do the bike tour itself, plus the nine more miles riding there and back home. Though it registered the three pound drop my thinking is that it could be more temporary water loss than actual weight. I may skip next Sunday’s weigh in and wait until the following because I would hate to find next week that I’d “put some back.”

That’s a lot of exercise! I can see that you’d want to wait and see how things level out. You could also add weight from muscle gain I suppose.
I didn’t pick up on “doubtful” and I like the idea of casually losing weight. “Casual Weight Loss” by Will Campbell.

Hah - I know I casually lost a few pounds over the side of the whalewatch boat on Saturday. I’m sure I’ve put them all back on by now too.
I’m glad to hear that you have not only maintained your record for ALL bike tours, but continue your weight decline (however induced).

Love the title Jo! But in reading my comment above, the meticuloid in me must clarify that the ride was a total of 30 miles… 21 for the tour and nine in transit.
Ooo Cybele! Sorry to hear you had a heave over the side and thanks for the well wishes!
