I Feel A Crazy Idea Coming On…
So at 838 year-to-date miles (after I get home tonight) and not even a quarter into the year I’m waaaaaaaaaay ahead where I need to be to reach my biking goal of 2,007 miles by the end of 2007. Far more saner or at least less-obsessed cyclists would let off the throttle and relaaaaaax.
Me? I’ve plugged [...]

Got Me Summa Dat Dim Sum
Susan and I are back from our trip to Orange County where we had lunch at the dim sum palace known as Sea Food Paradise in Westminster, at the entrance of which I found this concrete truth:
And inside I had plenty of this:
I had incorrectly called the above “butter encrusted shrimp” in the post below. [...]

How Many Wingbeats Per Second Of A…
Couldn’t resist posting this. On our way up to the reservoir meadow event yesterday we passed under a bottle brush tree on Silver Lake Boulevard and this wonderful hummingbird obliged me taking forever to get my camera and long lens together by keeping busy until I could capture it (click to enlarge):

Making An OC Day Of It
In just a short bit, my baby and I are going to venture south of the L.A. County Line into Orange County to go see my buddy Billy’s mountain biking documentary Klunkerz on tap this 3:30 p.m. at the Newport Beach Film Festival. As such I suggested to Susan we lunch at the magnificent Sea [...]

This Property Has Been Abandoned
Ah well… I can only hope the pair of house sparrows who moved in April 3 and built a nest inside one of the paper lanterns in the backyard only to have it and their two eggs destroyed in the April 12 wind storm have found a safer more secure place to rebuild and repopulate [...]

Long Excellent Day
Full day at work. 50 miles of bike riding and even though it’s way late being too early tomorrow, I still manage the energy to upload pix of:
Some flowers and stuff at the Exposition Park Rose Garden where I stopped on my wat from work to the Arts District
Tonight’s IAAL•MAF Invitational Ride
I don’t think I’m [...]

Bike-A-Palooza
Thankfully yesterday’s and night’s winds have seemed to dissipate, the better to enable today’s endurathon in which I will rack upwards of 50 miles before the day is done thanks to tonight’s IAAL•MAF Invitational No. 4.0 that will be embarking from the Arts District for East L.A. and points south.
First I’ll be two-wheeling to work [...]

The Linen Suit
In a phone conversation last week my mom told me she’d been out shopping and had come across a men’s white linen suit for an unbelievable price and wanted to know what my size was. I told her I wasn’t sure. The heftier last year’s me was threatening to push into the realm of a [...]

Where There’s A Hill There’s A Way
Near the end of my bike commutes home I’m always faced with one final obstacle. It’s nothing monumental, about 580 feet of Occidental Boulevard that rises some 60 feet over that length (roughly a 10% grade), but after 15 miles across town through traffic it’s a chore to get up on top of it (even moreso after the 22 miles rolled [...]

Part Of The Scenery
When you look through the years
And see what you could have been
Ooooh, what you might have been
If you’d had more time
In light of today’s unfathomable and horrific violence that occured this morning on the other side of the country, I need to go to the edge of this side and get me some late-afternoon beachification… [...]
