Animal Update
Having just watched the live-action version of Charlotte’s Web tonight (by choice; you gotta problem with that?) I wanted to chime in with a brief base touch regarding the present status on some of the animals inside our barn and out:
1) While Susan saw a pair of sparrows sitting in the bougainvillea yesterday in proximity [...]

Another Moving Experience
Midnight Ridazz time again — and on Friday the 13th, no less. Fortunately I emerged from the magnificent ride tonight with 32 more miles under my tires and a whole buncha pix viewable here.
UPDATED (4/15): I found this shot (fauxtoshopped into surrealistration by me, of course) in the Midnight Ridazz photo gallery from the dedicated [...]

Yes, I’m A Twit… ter… er
Like most things internet I’ll probably play with this a little while and then cast it off into the e-dustbin with so much other online gadgets after I tire of it, but for now I’m part of the allegedly growing Twitter nation wherein via that orangy badge over on the right and any inclination I [...]

About Rhymes With Doubt
Sigh. I’ve written before about applying for what seems like the perfect gig and not getting it. I’ve wallowed in self pity and frustration, but I’m not going to do that today — or at least try not to.
You put yourself forward as an ideal candidate and you get kicked to the curb. That’s just [...]

Sad News About Our New Tenants
What a shame. The high winds today destroyed the paper lantern in the backyard that a pair of house sparrows had chosen to build their nest. While Susan found the nest itself intact on the ground, unfortunately she also found the splats and shell fragments of what looked to be two tiny eggs that [...]

What’d I Tell Ya, Huh!?
Just a quick hit from TV Land.
So far everything’s going how I envisioned it on American Idol. Last night Seacrest drops that 35 million people voted, up two mil from last week (which was up three mil from the week before) just as I predicted it would be. Next, Sanjaya — who made a great song [...]

Crimp My Ride
A couple years or so ago I had been hopeful that I could limit driving my truck enough so that it could roll past our 10th anniversary this coming July 7 without having yet hit the 100,000 mile mark.
To be honest, it’s totally silly and I should just get over it because there’s no real reason [...]

A Beautiful Little Girl Made My Day
From my seat on the southbound Blue Line train this morning, I looked up from page 217 of Gore Vidal’s Burr where I just read the words:
Eventually all things are known. And few matter.
As I contemplated that wonderfully stated truth I stared out the window and saw we were passing passing 97th Street. The next [...]

Little Losses, Little Wins
Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses.. You look back regretably knowing you got up waaaay early enough this morning to either bike or mass-transit your way into work like you wanted to do and promised to do, yet instead you got snared by various timesucking diversions and now you’re looking at the clock and its 7:45 [...]

Cross-Pointing
Susan and I did a lot this weekend what with the Blessing of the Animals down at Olvera Street Saturday and today going to see Man of La Mancha at Glendale’s A Noise Within, followed by dinner across town at Messob in Little Ethiopia.
I need to get some sleep as I’m planning on alt-commuting this [...]
