Palms & Perseids
When I went out in the backyard I was so enamored with the big dipper sitting on top of the house’s roof line that even though it was bed time I went to the trouble to set up the camera for the purpose of capturing that scene. And after failing to do that to any [...]

El Valiente
Recounting this latest afrontation/confrontation by/with a motorist yesterday has elements that are so similar with others past as to render it almost too boring to bother. But I have to get it out of my head so bear with me.
Where: Eastbound on Pico Boulevard after crossing Catalina Street; at approximately mile No. 40 of what [...]

An Appreciated Gift Of Appreciation
A regular on the night bike-riding scene is a young fella by the name of Tom whose Midnight Ridazz nick is Fuzzbeast. One of the things Fuzz has become known for these last few months is his handmade faux-official street signage cut from cardboard featuring a bike and a word or two that he hangs [...]

Next Phase
Following up on my post last Friday about the excellent phone interview I had for a job I applied for, I had a phone call today with the company’s HR person and from that a person-to-person meeting has been set up in West L.A. for Wednesday morning with the company’s president.
Nice.

Mad Engineer At Work
When the lightbulb goes off in my head, it doesn’t have to be a thousand-watt blaze o’ glory. In this case the idea of capturing via timelapse the opening of one of the neighbor’s San Pedro cactus blossoms that I’ve been fascinated by of late was more like the equivalent of a tea candle flaming [...]

Nothing Like A Good Chuckle To Start The Day
In my inbox this a.m. was the following urgentspam call to action regarding my “G MAI L” account (click to doublify):
Yeah, as soon as I stop pffft’ing and snickering I’ll get right on that.

Cactus Flower Power: Before & After
Before whatever critter it is that comes and dines on it, I finally succeeded in capturing a bloom in full of what I believe is commonly called the San Pedro cactus growing just over the fence in our neighbor’s backyard (click images to triplify):
Before • 6:34 p.m.
After • 9:23 p.m.
