Bless Me Father For I Have Barked
Posted by Will under animals, downtown, happenings
The 78th Annual Blessing of the Animals is taking place at Olvera Street this Saturday beginning at noon, with the procession commencing at 2 p.m.
Susan and I have made this a spring tradition since 2004, bringing our Russian tortoise Buster who serves as house ambassador for our four cats and two dogs.
I snapped this photo of a true dee-oh-double-guh blessee from the event in 2005.

Hi, I saw you there. I wrote the book, Blessing of the Animals (which also includes the Olvera Street event) and have been a guest of the merchants for four years–should have a new slide show up when I get home this week. I am heading over to the Haute Dog Easter Parade today…I’ll look to see if I have any snaps of your dog.

Thanks for the comment Diana, but we didn’t go to this year’s blessing with either of our dogs, we went with our tortoise. The dog in the picture was someone else’s that I snapped in 2005.
