sic • \’sik\ adverb [Latin] (circa 1859): intentionally so written — used after a printed word or passage to indicate that it is exactly as printed or to indicate that it exactly reproduces an original (Ex. Tom said he seed [sic] it all).

Wow, that is so beautiful! I love that it's Welsh. I imagine it being packed for a sailor and traveling the sea.

Hi Gary. Yeah, she's a byoot! And still pretty solid. Great minds think alike: if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Nothing's inside except a reaaaaally beat up wooden tray/shelf thingie that lifts out. That might be worth restoring/recreating since its a separate piece and unadorned.

What I really need is for Antigue Roadshow to swing through town!

A fine looking trunk.
What's in it?
Since most restoration attempts end up lowering the value of antiques, unless the thing is close to collapsing under it's own weight I'd leave it alone.
Those decorations at the ends of the "straps" look interesting, perhaps worth a little research as to potential meaning. They look like they support the story, Welsh or Gaelic or some such.
