Great story, Will.
Been in that canyon, it is a good ride.
Also nearly broke my neck, literally, going endo in another part of that area, biking downhill on singletrack just slightly beyond my abilities.

Discretion IS the better part of valor.

A great cautionary story.

Well, that’s why there’s no riding on the L.A. River bike path when it rains, even when you see ominous clouds over the mountains.

Closer to home, last year, I felt like a fool when I suddenly realized, while taking pictures of the Alex Baum Bridge, during the start of a light sprinkle, why the bike path was so empty.

Great story! Well written and well ridden!

We went Bike Camping a while back and took that trail. I remember crossing the “creeks” with our bikes and trailers and feeling like Lewis & Clark or more likely the Donner Party. But it was nothing like this adventure. Supah!
