sic • \’sik\ adverb [Latin] (circa 1859): intentionally so written — used after a printed word or passage to indicate that it is exactly as printed or to indicate that it exactly reproduces an original (Ex. Tom said he seed [sic] it all).

A few years ago, our cat's territory got invaded by a big stray who showed signs of rabies. Greasy and shabby. Aggressive and provocative, even with us. Attacking our kitty at every opportunity. We rented a cage from animal control, and waited. The first night, we caught an opossum, a neighbor's cat, and a seagull. Stray stayed away. We caught the bastard on the second night, but not before we had caught the opossum again. Getting the actual "target" in the cage takes work! Hope you'll be reunited w/ Bink soon.
