Silver Lake Stormwatch: March 31

Well, that was a surprise. Though it was drizzling all Saturday morning, and the overcast grew denser as it got dark last night, I wasn’t expecting the water that fell from the sky and I had to scramble while getting pretty nicely drenched to cover up the tortoise hutch and the hammock.

This morning under crystal clear skies buffed by some blustery winds that have sustained themselves throughout the day, our backyard precipitometer told the tale: a quarter inch came down during the night. Not much, to be sure, but certainly measurable — and more than enough to put us over 23.5″ season-to-date… 23.573 inches to be unofficially exact.
