Time Lapse Tagger Cam
January 22, 2007
6:15 - 9:43 p.m.

Parking my truck in front of the house and setting up the laptop inside it with a low-quality USB webcam pointed from the dash (and using the motion-detection feature with the software I use) out the front window I captured my baby getting home from work and several pedestrians, but other than that got a whole lotta low-resolution nothing — and certainly no tagger as the perp decided to take the night off.

At least I did learn that the laptop batteries function for about four full hours of set-up/surveiling before running out of juice. Not bad for a six-year-old lithium power source. And FYI, the light over the garage door goes off so much because it's motion-triggered, too.
