Double Dragon

It’s one thing to be able to look so close through a set of such gorgeous stained glass wings (click to quadruplify):

And its another extra special bonus entirely to have a front row seat as one frolics in the water while another attempts to join the pool party. I’m not sure if the dragonfly was getting a drink of water of performing part of a mating ritual, but either way, awesome:

UPDATE (1:22 p.m.): Turns out the pair is a mating species and some female dragonflies dip their tails into the water to lay their eggs. Guess I’ll have to make doubly sure this bowl doesn’t dry out… for anywhere between two and 10 years!?
