Well, I’m here in Orlando, comfortably ensconced in my 11th floor room at the Peabody where I can see a big round thing that must be Epcot Center waaaaaaay off in the distance… and not much else.
Like most of Florida there’s no place to hide in Orlando. No variation in the terrain. It’s so flat and wide open that a five foot tidal surge seems like it could swamp the whole of the city’s limits. In fact I think the entire state is just a series of huge geological shower pans that slope inward to center drains.
But anyway I’m here after a relatively quiet and turbulence-free flight, the wifi’s working and I’m just gonna order up some room service and keep to myself tonight.
