I posted here on Blogging.la about the wonderful bird mural Susan and I discovered along Fountain Avenue near Gower while biking back from the Hollywood Farmers Market this morning. This afternoon we found that a flock of American robins had decided to hang out around our house, primarily in the backyard tree. Could they be scoping out potential nest sites? Dunno, but I did find out they’re very wary and flighty and thus hard to photograph, and as such this is the best shot of one I got (of the 25 I snapped; click to quadruplify):

You are lucky to have seen this one! They just arrived. This is, almost to the day, when robins also appear on the east coast. He is indeed the first harbinger of spring!
I see robins in the park very occasionally, but never in Los Feliz (below Los Feliz Blvd), and never in Silver Lake around here. Yet.
