A Third Of The Way There
Posted by Will under biking, milestones
I’ve rolled past my first thousand miles today, finishing up with this evening’s commute home at 1,005 for the year to date. Only 1,995 more to reach my goal for 2008.
Here’s a moment somewhere around mile 880 during the bike tour March 2; this macro of the cheap thumbnail image courtesy of the first time ever that the MarathonFoto folks have actually staffed the bike tour course:

Not withstanding that Marathon Foto is my employer of record for the last 21 marathons, I think that is a great photo.
Well worth whatever they are charging after all it is really you. That and the photographer so captured your inner thought of “Cheese”.
Your support of Marathon Foto will help assure that photographers will be there every year to record momentous moments like we see here.

Congrats on the first thousand! I looked at your stats the other day (around 920 or so) and thought, “Dude’s gonna break at least 3500 easy!”

Thanks Julia! Secretly I’m looking at my first couple months and thinking if I keep such a pace up I could might possibly be flirting with 5,000 miles by year’s end!
And Joel, you’re right. I’m gonna order up a print. It may have taken 13 MarathonFoto-less bike tours before they showed up, but it’d be nice if they came back for next year’s, and the year after that, and that. And that.

Congrats! That’s impressive!
