In the past there has been the “Ten Bridges” bike ride. Behold: The “Five Presidents!” John Adams Boulevard to George Washington Boulevard to Abraham Lincoln Avenue to Thomas Jefferson Boulevard to Herbert Hoover Street. Roughly 25 miles along those thoroughfares, but overall maybe around 35 miles, starting and ending in Silver Lake. Stay tuned.

My motorcycle mountains are toast and closed for the rest of the year so some *other* biking might be in order. I dropped 25 lbs, been doing the 100 push up challenge, jogging in Elysian park + yoga could mean I’m in shape to do this???????
Keep me posted.

Michael, you could TOTALLY do this. I’ll keep you in the loop.

Six presidents, you are close enough to the Ronald Reagan freeway section….

Phil, your definition of “close enough” is much different than mine. The Ronald Reagan Freeway is the 118, at the north end of the San Fernando Valley.
Plus it’s a FREEWAY. Let’s stick with streets named after presidents that actually intersect and can be legally biked upon.

I originally organized a Prez-Day ride earlier this year but it was rained out. My ride would have taken us to Lincoln Park in the Eastside, and in my home environs of East Hollywood, where we have a Madison Ave, a Monroe Ave and (though not the same person, but a president’s name nonetheless), a Clinton St.
There’s also a Van Buren Pl near USC.

There is a Roosevelt street just west of Rosedale cemetery.
The motherlode area is near Westwood with Eisenhower Avenue, Grant and Dewey (just a runner up….)

Easy there fellas, it’s a safe bet there’s a Calhoun and a Wilson and a Taft and a Jackson and a Pierce and a Harding and a Hayes and a whole bunch of others somewhere out there on the greater LA grid.
