While the two chicks in the frontyard nest known as Hummingbird West continue to grow and grow, today’s the birthday of one of the chicks in the backyard nest, aka Hummingbird East. Amazing (click to biggify):
If all’s well with the sibling egg it should be breaking out of its shell later today or perhaps tomorrow.
PS. In getting these shots, I do nothing to disturb the mother or her nest. Literally I wait until she’s left before approaching and, as evidenced by the low quality of the shot, I don’t waste a lot of time snapping.
