For the fifth consecutive year, I’ve gotten up early the day before the annual Los Angeles River Ride and with my friend Stephen Roullier pedaled out to the Los Angeles River Center from Echo Park where we joined some like-minded volunteer route markers to help organizer Colin Bogart mark the overall route from Griffith Park and Long Beach with signs and arrows that will help guide the hundreds upon hundreds of cyclists will pedal the next day.
The section me and Steve and fellow volunteer Bruce did began at Hollenbeck Park in Boyle Heights down through Vernon to where riders will enter the LA River Bikeway for the rest of the trip to Long Beach.
